Members from the Shropshire Mammal Society conducted a survey of the wetlands on 21 June 2019. Small mammal traps were set which yielded wood mouse and young bank vole.

A detailed survey was then made of water courses along the Quinny brook. This yielded two positive confirmatory signs of water vole – at last! And, two otter spraints were found.
