Legacies

Legacy giving

Talking about wills isn’t easy but wills are important documents and it is important that your wishes are known and followed fully, and an up to date will is the best way to ensure that happens.

It is sensible to review your will every few years or when major changes in circumstances happen to make sure you still happy with it.

How will MMCLT use any gifts I might leave it in my will?

Along with donations, your gift will allow us to continue our work, buying and managing land in the area rebuilding biodiversity and restoring natural ecosystems both for the benefit of wildlife and people.

Your legacy is more than a gift for now, it is a gift for future generations too.

It is part of your legacy.

This is especially important to remember if you are considering making a gift of land – your solicitor can advise you on the  steps you can take to ensure it is used and protected in line with your wishes.

How do I leave a gift to MMCLT in my Will?

When making or updating your Will, you just need to let your solicitor know your intentions. There is no obligation to let us know and you can change your mind at any time.

You can make a gift of a parcel of land, or you can make a gift of a specific sum of money, or a percentage of your estate once all specific gifts, bills and costs have been paid – that is up to you.

We do strongly advise you to contact your solicitor to make or amend your will if you would like to leave a gift to MMCLT.

Your solicitor will need to know our details including our address and registration number at the Financial Regulatory Authority, they are set out below.

Middle Marches Community Land Trust
Enterprise House, Station Street, Bishops Castle, SY9 5AQ

Registration number 8143 (Financial Conduct Authority)

If you’d like to talk to someone at MMCLT before you make a decision, then please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help. Please note that MMCLT cannot advise you on making your will or on other legal matters.
