Thanks for joining us!
Many thanks to those who joined us on Wednesday 22nd May at the Three Tuns in Bishops Castle.
We were delighted to share the evening with you. It was very interesting to hear a little more about your backgrounds and why you were attending the meeting.
Attendees included wildlife enthusiasts, landowners, managers of organisations such as the National Trust and Natural England, a woodland manger, and a director of a local charity. It was fantastic to build on ideas from the Launch with such a wealth of knowledge.
After a brief introduction about the incorporation and governance of the Trust, we broke off into groups to discuss the 5 main themes that had emerged from the Launch. These were:
- Fundraising & Finance
- Landowner Engagement
- Development of Middle Marches as a Hub
- Volunteering
- Promotion, Marketing and Technnological Development
As ideas emerged, attendees were encouraged to think about where they might be placed on the Middle Marches Timeline (a physical washing line hung up in the Tuns with clothes pegs!) The Timeline spanned from today to 2024. Judging by the photo below, it seems the Trust will be quite busy!
The group shared feedback as a whole to bring the evening to a close. We are very grateful for all the comments and suggestions put forward. We know this is just the beginning of the Middle Marches’ journey, but we’re thrilled to be able to involve you from the outset.
We are currently writing up all the information from the event and planning our next meeting. As soon as we have any updates, we’ll be in touch!
Thank you once again for joining us. It was a splendid evening with many fruitful discussions.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
