Homesteading at 1000ft

POSTPONED

What to expect

Jon & Cheryl have been growing their own food organically at Tankerville Farm for over 20 years. They will show their mature forest garden and talk about establishing food systems that challenge the idea that “this land is only fit for sheep.”

The wildflower meadow should be peaking around then and they will talk about the challenges involved in improving degraded grassland for wildlife. Permaculture is at the core of all they do and they will explain the context of this during the tour – Jon was until recently a trustee of the Permaculture Association and a long term member of their Education Working Group.

There will be time to see the 3 eco-houses built to replace redundant farm buildings. Drinks will be available at the houses after the land tour.
